		<description>Thank you for asking, Sandra.

Firstly, the red may still fade, but the process may be slow--over a period of several months. Secondly, you can choose to treat and aide the healing, address the redness and perhaps the beginnings of scarring. I might suggest a gentle, non-invasive treatment with GentleWaves. We have had great success with this gentle treatment with patients coming to us from elsewhere in the community with laser and/or chemical peel injuries. GentleWaves is a low energy flux of light that speeds up the natural healing process, and is administered once or twice a week. We have been impressed with the results for patients.

If more is needed, then pulse dye lasers, either V Beam or V Star, can be used. These are true lasers that we use to treat scarring and redness. We use these same lasers to treat red stretch marks and children with port wine stain hemangiomas.

If you are not doing so already, I would begin to us an over-the-counter scar healing cream like Mederma (but in ointment form). These are all answers that your doctor should have already presented to you.

I hope this is helpful.
